"What Must I Do To Be Saved"

Test

Circle only ONE Answer

According to the Bible (which contains everything we need to know about life and godliness) to be saved I must:

  1. Believe in Christ (Jn. 3:16; Acts 16:31)
  2. Repent of my sins (Lk. 13:3; Acts 3:19)
  3. Confess faith in Christ (Matt. 10:32)
  4. Be baptized (I Peter 3:21; Gal. 3:27)
  5. Live faithfully unto death (Rev. 2:10)
  6. Repent and have faith (Acts 20:21)
  7. Believe and confess with my mouth (Rom. 10:10)
  8. Repent and be baptized (Acts 2:38)
  9. Believe and be baptized (Mk. 16:16)
  10. Be buried with Christ in baptism and
rise to walk in newness of life (Rom. 6:4)
  11. Be born again of water and spirit (Jn. 3:3-5)
  12. Pray the sinner’s prayer, "God be merciful to me a sinner."
  13. All of the above EXCEPT "L"

The correct answer is "M". The publican (tax collector) in Luke 18 was a Jew living under the Old Testament. Therefore, he was already in covenant relationship with God. Under the New Testament a Christian can pray for forgiveness (I John 1:9), but an unrighteous man’s prayer is ineffective (I Peter 3:12; James 5:16).

Many people would say just do letter "A" or letter "F" or letter "L". But the majority is not always right! In fact, Jesus said the way that leads to life is narrow, and few there be that find it. Keep in mind, "there are more terms of pardon than are contained in any one verse." We need to obey everything the Lord has revealed for us to do to be saved. We must believe the whole Bible, not a Bible full of holes!
