Our Revival begins
next Sunday morning with Brother George Roberts of Ocala, FL. Sunday night
is "Old Fashion" Night, so wear your overalls, bonnets, and country clothes.
Everyone is invited to bring your favorite country cooking at 5 pm and
fellowship together in the evening meal before the service begins. We still
need Nursery Volunteers and people to feed the Evangelist … sign up on the
lists on the bulletin board. Be praying for a great revival and tell others
about it. Plan now to attend every service!
Fords Branch Church of Christ Revival – April 14-16
Zebulon Church of Christ Revival – April 17-20
The Jr. High Choir will not practice tonight. Teachers
need to be prepared to keep your students the entire hour.
The Preschool/Early Elementary Children are
working on a program which they will present on May 1 at 6 pm. They only
have 4 more practices (Wednesday nights). It is important that they attend
all practices.
Officers & Ladies’ Circle Meetings today at 5 pm
Taking Another Look At Thomas
John 20:19-29
We all have come to know Thomas as "doubting Thomas."
However, maybe he wasn’t as big a doubter as some have thought. Mark 16:14
reveals that at first, all the disciples were unbelievers in the
resurrection of Christ. Thomas can teach us all some important lessons
regarding faith and doubt.
I. Absent (v. 24)
A. Absenteeism is the cause of a lot of doubt
today.
B. Does God ever seem distant to you?
II. Open (v. 25)
C. There are three basic approaches to doubt:
1. A doubter and proud of it
2. Afraid to doubt anything at all
3. Willing to believe if there is enough
evidence.
D. Some things must be accepted by faith, not by
sight.
III. Seeking (v. 28)
E. Jeremiah 29:13
F. Thomas confessed his faith that Jesus was his
God!
We must seek in order to find. Sometimes doubt gets in
our way, but we must work our way through our doubts. Be willing to dig a
little deeper, check out the evidence, and then act upon your faith. Have
you confessed Jesus as your Lord? Have you obeyed His gospel plan? If not,
then act on your faith today!
