Kingdom’s Price Is Sacrifice
Matthew 16:13-27

I.  Jesus promised to build His church. (Matt. 16:18-19)

A. "The rock" was Peter’s confession

B. The Kingdom of heaven is the church on earth.

C. Peter used the keys in Acts 2 (Jews) and Acts 10 (Gentiles).

II.  The price of the church was the death of Christ. (Matt. 16:21-23)

D. Jesus knew He must die – He foretold how and where.

E. Peter rebuked Jesus – "This shall not happen."

F. Jesus rebuked Peter – Peter was voicing the will of Satan.

III.  The disciples of Christ must also sacrifice. (Matt. 16:24-27)

G. Deny self – save life.

H. Live for the world – lose your soul. (The selfish lose everything)

I. The rewards are eternal! (The unselfish gain everything).

What will your reward be? Get ready --- Jesus is coming again!
