Week: Mexican Evangelism Now
Senior Week at CCYC begins today. Sammie Carter will
be driving the bus, leaving at 1:30. Be sure you have your registration
forms filled out and signed by your parents before you get on the bus.
There will be a meeting today after church for all
volunteers who would teach Wee Worship on a weekly basis. We hope to
have 8 – 10 volunteers.
"Two-by-Two Visitation Ministry" will begin
tonight at 7 pm. The next visitation night will be June 26. Pray about your
involvement in this effort to win the lost, minister to the hurting, and
encourage the weak.
Next Sunday night is Youth Night, with John
Belcher preaching. Our young people will be leading the rest of the service.
Beginning June 22, we will be having a series of lessons
on "Stewardship" (Wednesday nights).
Thanks to all who helped in any way to make VBS
possible! We had great lessons, wonderful music, delicious refreshments, fun
recreation, and a tremendous group of students, teachers and helpers! Our
mission offering greatly surpassed our goal, and will be given to Workers
for Mexico.
The Need for Church Growth
Matthew 28:18-20
The primary mission of the church is to make disciples of
Jesus Christ. Being a disciple of Christ means you learn of Him, follow Him,
and carry on His mission of seeking and saving the lost. Every disciple of
Christ shares the task of making more disciples.
I. The Need
A. John 14:6; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23
B. Acts 17:30-31
C. Romans 10:1-3; II Thessalonians 1:7-9
II. The Message
D. Mark 16:15
E. Romans 1:16
III. The Methods
F. Ephesians 3:8-11
G. Christians must share the message.
H. "Come and see."
If it is true that man’s sin has separated him from God
for eternity; and if it is true that God sent His only Son to die for our
sins; and if it is true that Jesus Christ is the only Hope we have for
forgiveness of our sins, then the task of bringing people to Christ must be
the highest mission or purpose that anyone could possibly have in life. And
Jesus IS our only HOPE! People need the Lord! If you are not a Christian, we
urge you to obey Jesus Christ today!
