Happy Father’s Day to all of
our Dads!
Jr. Week at CCYC begins today. The bus will leave at
1:30. Be sure you have your registration forms filled out and signed by your
parents before you get on the bus!
There will be a group of 40 people from the Fowlers
Mill Church in Chardon, OH sleeping in our buildings this week. They
will be repairing various homes in the Pikeville and Ford’s Branch areas
this week.
Tonight is Youth Night, with John Belcher
preaching.
If you have a photo of someone in your immediate family
to submit for our July 3 presentation (military personnel in
uniform), the deadline is tomorrow. List the dates and branch of service.
HOPE distribution is Tuesday. Volunteers are needed
this evening to bag up food and Tuesday at 8:30 to distribute it.
Next Sunday night will be the second "Two by Two"
Visitation – 7 pm.
Elderberries who plan to tour the Toyota Plant on
July 14 must give your name, as shown on a Photo I.D. to Bobbie by Sunday,
June 26. In order to meet their security requirements, we must submit a list
of all going on the tour.
Honoring Our Fathers
Ephesians 6:1-4
Men are often portrayed in comedy television shows as
being insensitive, unfeeling, self-centered, sloppy, and totally out of
touch with their wives and children. And while that is the case with many,
there are still men around who are godly, sensitive, and unselfish! These
men are worthy of honor and respect.
I. God would have men be spiritual leaders.
A. Joshua 24:14-15 – that’s leadership!
B. Example – David Robinson
II. God would have us be involved parents.
C. Bad example – King David
D. Little things mean a lot!
III. God would have men be devoted husbands.
E. I Peter 3:1-7
F. The best thing you can do for your children is
to love their mother.
Regardless of how good or how bad your earthly father
was, you have a perfect Heavenly Father who wants you in His family forever!
If you’re not a Christian, allow God to adopt you into His family by obeying
His Son, Jesus Christ!
