Nomination ballots need to be turned in today
to one of the elders.
We plan to have a float in the Christmas Parade on Dec. 4th.
If you can help with this project, see Stephanie Greenhill.
We welcome Tina Salisbury to our church family! She was
baptized into Christ last Sunday night.
Every member of the congregation is challenged to listen
through the New Testament the first two months of 2005. This can be
accomplished in just 19 minutes a day. "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing
by the word of God." We all need more faith and knowledge!
There will be a costume fitting today at 5 p.m. for all
Live Nativity characters. Meet in the auditorium.
As you celebrate Thanksgiving with your loved ones,
praise God for all His goodness!
Joy and Thanksgiving
Nehemiah 8:8-10; 12:27, 43
After 70 years of captivity, Israel returned to its homeland. The temple
and the city walls of Jerusalem were rebuilt. Then Ezra, the scribe and the
Levites read the book of the law to the people and they mourned because of
their sins. But the people were encouraged by their leaders to rejoice in
the Lord and praise Him with thanksgiving.
I. There is a joy only the Lord can give.
A. Isaiah 12:1-6
B. Romans 5:1-2, 10-11
II. This joy is our strength.
C. His grace is sufficient.
D. II Cor. 4:14-18
III. This joy leads to practical results.
E. Praise, worship, and thanksgiving (Neh. 8:6)
F. Reading, preaching, and teaching the word. (Neh. 8:8)
G. Fellowship and eating together (Neh. 8:10)

K. Early church (Acts 2:41-47)
IV. This joy is within reach.
