Those Wonderful Angels

Luke 2:1-16

God’s word presents us with many occasions in which angels have intervened in the lives of man. From the Garden of Eden to the empty garden tomb, angels are serving God. But there is no other period in which there was so much angelic involvement as during those wonderful events that involved the coming of Christ to the earth. What can we learn from them?

I.  There are some obvious observations we can make about angels.

A. They are present in 34 of the 66 books of the Bible.

B. They are spirit beings that can appear in human form.

C. They help Christians in a variety of ways. (Heb. 1:14)

D. There are fallen angels who are condemned along with Satan.

II.  To a certain extent, every Christian is an angel!

E. No, not "perfect angels," but striving for perfection.

F. Angels are "messengers" of God.

G. Angels worship and proclaim His message!

III.  Follow the example of those Heavenly beings.

H. Proclaim His message!

I. Worship with praise and thanksgiving!

J. Serve the Lord unselfishly!

Today we invite you to accept His invitation to be His servant. If you are serving sin, self, and Satan, you need to change masters.
