Our Minister...

   Jerry Bliffen was born April 11, 1954 to Jack and Jean Bliffen.  Jack Bliffen served as a part-time minister to the Coal Run Church in 1949 while a student at Kentucky Christian College (K.C.C.).  Jerry grew up in a preacher's home and lived in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and Georgia.  He met his wife, Sheila, while attending K.C.C. in 1972.  Sheila is the daughter of E.W. and Mary Damron, who served the Coal Run Church from 1954-1962, and again from 1969-1990.  Sheila and Jerry married in 1974 here at Coal Run, and graduated from K.C.C. in 1976.  They served the Vansant Church of Christ from 1976-1990.  When E.W. retired in 1990, the Bliffens moved to Coal Run to begin their present ministry here.  They are parents to two daughters, Bethany and Sarah.  Bethany married Shane Lockard in 2000, and Shane entered the full-time ministry at the Zebulon Church of Christ in 2003.  They made Jerry and Sheila grandparents on August 12, 2003, when Alyson Lockard was born.  Jerry's father, two brothers, and brother-in-law are all full-time ministers serving churches in our Brotherhood.  Serving the Lord is a constant way of life for the entire Bliffen family.
