Strategy For Exiles I Peter 2:11-12 As Christians we are not at home in this world --- we are more like aliens and exiles. In the book of Daniel we read of those Jews who were exiles in Babylon. How did they serve God in their stressful conditions? Their example can teach us some important lessons. Daniel gave careful thought. (Dan. 1:8) A. He wanted to take a stand for God. B. "Wise as serpents, harmless as doves" Use proper channels. (Dan. 1:8b) C. He was "above board." D. II Cor. 8:21; I Cor. 10:32-33 Use wisdom and tact. (Dan. 2:14) E. Daniel established himself as an honorable person. F. Do not be rude and inconsiderate. Pray without ceasing. (Dan. 2:17-18) G. They were separated from the temple and the sacrifices and feasts. H. They ALL prayed. Give God credit when He blesses. (Dan. 2:24-28) I. There are many ways we can glorify God in public places. J. I Peter 3:15-16 These strategies do not guarantee that people will respond to our message. There will always be opposition. But these characteristics will help us in our witnessing work. Dare to be a Daniel. Take a stand for God today! |
