"We Would See Jesus"

John 12:20-26

Certain Greeks had come to Jerusalem for the Passover Feast. But more important than the feast, and more important than the temple, was Jesus Christ, the Son of God. These Greeks wanted to see Jesus. And by looking in God’s Word, we today see a picture of Jesus. In John 12, we can see many things about our Lord that we need to see and consider.

See Him in worship. (vs. 2-3)

A. Mary poured out precious ointment on Jesus

B. Our worship must be centered on Jesus

See Him in the evidence. (vs. 9)

C. Lazarus was living proof of the identity and power of Jesus.

D. The evidence of time, the Lord’s Day, and the church must be considered.

See Him in the word. (vs. 28.)

E. The voice from Heaven … more than mere noise!

F. I Th. 2:13 – The word of God; not the word of men.

See Him in the cross. (vs. 32)

G. Jesus died for me!

H. The cross draws us to Jesus.

See Him in the judgment. (vs. 48)

I. His standard of judgment will be His word.

J. On that day, you might not want to see Him, but you will have no choice.

When you see Jesus face to face, what will He say to you? "Well done" or "depart from me?" What you do now, while you have time, will determine what He does then.
