What Must I Do To Be Saved?

   This is the most important question man could ever ask.  The Bible clearly reveals the answer, yet there is still much confusion on this vitally important subject.  Why the confusion?  Satan does not want people to be saved.  He is the ultimate deceiver and he has successfully used well-meaning people to deceive other people. 

   In answering the above question, we must first remember that there are more terms of pardon than those contained in any one verse of scripture.  In other words, we need to know more than just John 3:16 or any other single verse we could pull out of the Bible.  We need to believe and obey the whole plan of salvation as revealed in the New Testament, and not just bits and pieces! 

  1. We must hear and believe the word of God.  Romans 10:17; I Thess. 2:13
  2. We must trust and obey Jesus Christ.  Acts 16:30-34; Mark 16:16
  3. We must confess our faith in Jesus as God’s Son.  Rom. 10:9-10; Matt. 10:32
  4. We must repent of (turn from) our sins.  Luke 13:3; Acts 3:19
  5. We must be baptized (immersed) into Christ.  Acts 2:38; Galatians 3:27
  6. We must live a faithful Christian life.  Revelation 2:10; II Tim. 4:7-8
